New in Platform: Workspace Is Your Home Base for Discovering and Licensing Amazing Visual Content

Phoebe Wang

Catch+Release is proud to announce a new, improved user experience in the platform to streamline your production workflow — from discovering, collecting, and shortlisting shots to clearing and licensing. Catch+Release helps marketers and advertisers discover and license amazing visual content from talented creators worldwide. We’re your trusted partner in visual storytelling, and we’re proud to offer continuous improvements where you can collect the gems you love and pursue licenses even faster and more effectively.

Workspace Makes It Clear Where to Take Next Steps

“Our customers are brilliant masters of their craft,” says Lauren Kostka, Sr. Product Manager at Catch+Release. “As storytellers, they come up with spectacular campaign ideas that captivate audiences, all while factoring in budget, timeline, performance goals, and so many other things. We saw an opportunity to make their lives easier. Our team reimagined the Catch+Release user experience so you can find all the shots you’ve ever saved or licensed and build collections much faster. We’ve housed it all under Workspace which now makes it more clear where you should go at any point to take next steps.”

Your Workspace Shows You Which Next Steps to Take

Your Workspace Shows You Which Next Steps to Take

You can find this new Workspace by logging into your account, and navigating to the top, right section of the nav bar. Once into your Workspace, you’ll see a list of tabs that appear near the top, left of the page. These include the main Workspace tab, “Shots”, “Collections”, “Usages dashboard”, and "Action needed". These tabs correspond to the pages with which you might already be familiar.

  • In the main Workspace tab, you will see at-a-glance how many shots are ready to license, how many shots are in clearance, and for how many shots your action is needed. You can also quickly see and click on your most recent collections.
  • The Shots page shows you all the shots you’ve ever saved or licensed with Catch+Release. They’re laid out in a table that you can search through, segment, and filter.
  • The Collections page will show you all the collections you’ve made, either from your personal profile, or from a team profile, depending on which profile you’re using.
  • The Usages dashboard will show you a list of all usages you have created. A “usage” is basically a set of license permissions that pertain to a shot(s). All of these pages are easily navigable from your Workspace.
  • Finally, the Action needed page is helpful when submitting multiple URLs into a collection or usage at the same time. After submitting the URLs, anything that returns multiple shot results will populate under this tab so that you can select which shot's the right one. If a URL returns one result, it will automatically process and go into the desired collection or usage.

Ads & Curation - Why are they interrelated?

Jim Beam, a beloved whiskey brand, ran a TV ad in May 2024. The spot, aptly named “People are Good” focuses on humans and has little to do with the taste and attributes of the product. Instead it’s focused on the outcomes and yes, the value. In other words, bringing people together to experience life’s precious moments. As a viewer, it pulls you in, tugs at your heart-strings. It’s real and therefore believable.
