New Progress Bar Helps You Keep a Pulse on Shots in Clearance

Phoebe Wang

We’re excited to announce our new clearance progress bar and other content modal additions to help you stay on track when licensing visual content for campaigns. As the licensing layer of the internet, Catch+Release gives brands access to any kind of content from anywhere. We have a streamlined approach to identifying copyright and intellectual property (IP) owners, and presenting licensing terms that fit exactly what you need.

Marketing managers and executive producers drive campaigns forward by making sure that all moving parts are, well, moving. Knowing this, we’ve given our customers the ability to check the status of a shot in clearance and anticipate next steps. This added layer of visibility also helps our customers understand what actions are being taken to get a shot cleared.

All of these new additions are viewable within the content modal when you have submitted a shot for clearance. You can click on a shot at any time to view the content modal with all these details. Above is an example of what this looks like when the user has just submitted a shot for clearance. You can see the main four stages of a shot during the clearance flow — contacting, negotiating, validating, and ready to license.

The content modal displays relevant information to help you make informed decisions while driving campaigns forward. As clearance progresses, stages along the progress bar will turn green as they are completed. Other information will begin to appear in the modal as well. For example, after negotiation, you will see an estimated price range for the shot displayed just below the clearance progress bar. The content modal also displays the layers of intellectual property (IP), the clearance status of each IP layer, and an estimated time-to-clear. Information will update as clearance progresses, and new updates may impact time-to-clear and pricing estimates.

We know how important it is for our customers to have visibility into how shots are progressing through clearance. When shots move forward, so do your campaigns. With the new clearance progress bar and content modal additions, you have all the information you need to assess how a shot might be used in your campaign as well as the remaining jobs to be done.

If you are interested in licensing stunning visual content, Catch+Release makes it easy. Send us any piece of content you find on the internet. We identify all the layers of intellectual property, negotiate terms based on what you need, and facilitate payment with one universal licensing agreement. We also offer indemnification. And if you need help finding the perfect gems for your campaign, ask us about our curation services. Schedule a chat to learn more from one of our creative experts.

Ads & Curation - Why are they interrelated?

Jim Beam, a beloved whiskey brand, ran a TV ad in May 2024. The spot, aptly named “People are Good” focuses on humans and has little to do with the taste and attributes of the product. Instead it’s focused on the outcomes and yes, the value. In other words, bringing people together to experience life’s precious moments. As a viewer, it pulls you in, tugs at your heart-strings. It’s real and therefore believable.
