Save Time Building Collections and Requesting Use on Shots by Submitting Multiple URLs at a Time
It turns out consumers love seeing themselves in campaigns. And now that cell phones have cutting edge camera technology built into them, consumers are doing their part to manifest more of it. People create and post high quality content online all the time, and brands can now license content faster and easier than before. The creator economy gets bigger and better every day. Modern day marketers love it! They can’t get enough. It’s why so many of them dedicate hours of their work week to scrolling through social media. They need to be where the culture is, and they need to consume just as much as they intend to create.
At Catch+Release, we wanted to make it a lot easier for marketers and creative teams to collect and even request use on multiple shots at a time with content that they find online. Our platform users now have the ability to submit multiple URLs to Catch+Release wherever they find gems online. We’ll take those URLs and help you upload it to a collection. We’ll even begin the licensing process if you’re ready to do that.
It’s as easy as copy and paste! Visit our website at catchandrelease.com/license-by-url, and click the button that says “+ Add Content”. A window will open that allows you to drop a single URL. If that’s all you need, go ahead and paste the URL directly into that box and click “Enter”. If you have multiple URLs you want to submit, click the text that says “bulk add content”. This will take you to a page where you can drop all the URLs you want to send us. This page will ask you to specify the collection where you’d like to save the shots. If you’d like to put these shots into clearance or request an assessment, you can do that by selecting an existing usage or creating a new one. Requesting licenses is not required at this time, but you’ll still need to specify a collection for the shots. Keep in mind: The shots from this submission will route to the same collection. If the shots should route to different collections, we recommend doing separate submissions accordingly.

After you finish pasting the URLs and selecting a collection (and usage, if applicable) you’ll want to click “Submit”. This will take you to the “Action needed” tab in your Workspace. Our engine will process the URLs and look for shots on these web pages. If we see multiple shots on a web page, we’ll let you know that multiple results were found. We’ll ask you to “Select content” to let us know which shot you had in mind. Click on that button on the right-hand side, and we’ll show you a view of all the results that we found from the URL you submitted. Select the shot you had in mind and then hit “Save”.

Have fun submitting URLs, and let us know what you think! We’re always looking for new ways to make your lives easier and support the creative production process.

Ads & Curation - Why are they interrelated?
Jim Beam, a beloved whiskey brand, ran a TV ad in May 2024. The spot, aptly named “People are Good” focuses on humans and has little to do with the taste and attributes of the product. Instead it’s focused on the outcomes and yes, the value. In other words, bringing people together to experience life’s precious moments. As a viewer, it pulls you in, tugs at your heart-strings. It’s real and therefore believable.
